A Writer struggles to hear her characters’ voices in her newest play. Making matters worse, the Writer is haunted by a former colleague who is now a Pulitzer Prize winner.
In a fit of desperation, the Writer invites her imaginary characters into her home. The stakes are raised this genre-bending tale as pages shred and egos and identities deconstruct.
The play was performed on the Augsburg MainStage as part of the 2022 Minnesota Fringe Festival, with the following cast:

The Uninvited Guest

Frank Steele died of his disease and his decisions. Now he appears to his family in their memory and imagination. Now his diseases appear as characters on stage, preventing him from reaching his family. In this struggle, memory melts and swirls into imagination, sadness, and humor as the family looks for a way to say goodbye. At the end of the struggle, there is a heartbreaking realization that there is never enough time and love is an unfinished game.
The Uninvited Guest was first produced at the Lowry Lab Theater in St. Paul, MN in November 2011, with the following cast:

The Loon Resort and Bait Shop

Joe, a World War II era big band musician, retired years ago to run a resort in small Northern Minnesota town. For years his only guest has been Bob, a middle school biology teacher, who relishes his fishing trips as a way to escape his students. A stormy night brings a mysterious stranger to the door of the resort. She is running from her past, but she encounters more than she expected.
The Loon Resort and Bait Shop premiered at the Paul Bunyan Playhouse in Bemidji, MN in January and February 1997 with the following cast:

The production was directed by Kay M. Robinson; scene and lighting design by Steven R. Pauna; stage management by Jody Rohweller
The play performed to sold-out houses. Reviewers called it “a warm and funny play” that had the power to “transfix audiences with the poignant wisdom of the woods.”
